Review of the Liv Pique 3 2018
If you are looking for a fast, light and agile women’s mountain bike, then the Liv Pique 3 2018 might be for you. Coming in three different sizes (XS, S and Medium), it comes fully equipped with the essentials you need to tackle more serious mountain bike trails.
The Liv brand specifically caters for women and has a unique 3F design philosophy to ensure that women can get the most out of their bikes. Technically, they have ongoing research with women geometry data and rider feedback to design and build bikes which are fit for purpose and which will encourage women to ride more.
After riding the Kalamunda Mountain Bike Collective circuit for 6 months, I was finding that my entry level hard tail had taken quite a few hits and the front brake caliper kept going off centre. The drive train was also getting weary and very noisy for the type of trails I was starting enjoying the most.
The Liv Pique 3 is definitely a huge step forward. The bike feels light and agile as well as capable of handling small drops and rough trails with 130 mm travel at the front and 120 mm travel at the rear.
The bike comes with a dropper seat post and tubeless tyres (Maxxis Forekaster 27.5/ 2.35 at the front and 2.2 at the rear).
All in all, it’s a great bike for aggressive cross-country!
